Description:
Lighter, faster, and more maneuverable than its Swiss counterpart, the Sergeant's Halberd was a deceptively quick and astonishingly effective weapon of war. Often seen as a ceremonial item carried as a badge of rank by officers and NCOs in the 18th and 19th centuries, it was, in its time, a much-feared weapon of war. Cold Steel's interpretation of the Sergeant's Halberd is representative of the battlefield incarnation of this historical tool. The head is forged from 1055 high carbon steel with a blackened finish. The distinctive halberd shape features a sharpened axe blade for devastating chopping power, a rear curved beak for hooking and grappling, and a central spear point for thrusting. Weight-reducing holes drilled through the blade serve both aesthetic and functional purposes — they lighten the head for faster handling without sacrificing structural integrity. The head is securely mounted to a straight-grained hardwood shaft via pre-drilled mounting holes. This polearm is fully functional, rugged, and durable. It is a perfect addition to the collection of any historical re-enactor or Western Martial Artist, and it makes a terrifically effective emergency self-defense tool when your life is on the line.
