It is robustly constructed entirely of metal and features several distinctive design components. The head assembly features a wide, deeply curved crescent-shaped axe blade with a long, thick, slightly curved rear beak on the reverse side. The center of the head extends upward into a sharp, prominent point. The haft is a straight, rigid all-steel handle section with an octagonal geometric profile. The lower portion of the shaft is wrapped in a bright red textured material to provide a secure handhold, bordered at both ends by flat, circular steel disks (rondels) that create a structured pommel at the base and a hand guard at the top.
