Description:
Few names in Scottish history carry the weight of Robert the Bruce. King of Scots from 1306 to 1329, he led his nation through the Wars of Scottish Independence and secured a place as one of Scotland's greatest national heroes. This Windlass Steelcrafts reproduction pays tribute to the warrior king, hand-forged with the same attention to detail that defined the original. The blade is crafted from 1065 high carbon steel, polished and sharp with a half fuller running down its length. The hilt is where the sword's character lives: a heavy, circular steel pommel emblazoned with the Cross of St. Andrew, bordered by a sculpted rope-like design. The grip is wrapped in black leather and bound with a corded silver chain, divided into ribbed sections for a secure hold. A straight, slender steel crossguard extends horizontally to protect the hands. The sword features a full tang with a peened pommel construction, a hallmark of Windlass's battle-ready line. The scabbard is a matching piece of craftsmanship. Wrapped in smooth black leather, it features a prominent silver-colored Lion of Scotland emblem at the throat—a historic symbol of Scottish royalty—and a protective steel chape at the tip. A matching black leather sword belt with a silver buckle is integrated into the suspension system, measuring 44 inches in length. The inner side of the leather strap shows its natural brown, un-dyed suede texture.
